Neon Horizon
Neon Horizon is a sci-fi concept project created as part of a design challenge. Set in a glowing, dystopian city, the story follows a lone figure navigating power, identity, and rebellion. The poster blends cinematic visuals, bold lighting, and narrative hints to bring this world to life — with elements created using AI tools.
Project brief
Photoshop challenge – Create a futuristic movie poster.
Design a sci-fi movie poster for a fictional film titled “Neon Horizon”. The movie is set in a cyberpunk future where AI controls the world, and a lone rebel fights for freedom.
Requirements:
Main character: a mysterious figure in a high-tech suit with a glowing cybernetic eye.
Background: a neon-lit cityscape with flying cars and holographic billboards.
Color palette: vibrant purple, blue, and neon pink.
Typography: bold sci-fi font for the movie title.
Effects: use light glow, reflections, and mist to create atmosphere.
Bonus: include a movie tagline (e.g., “The Future is Watching.”).
While the original idea was to refine my Photoshop skills, I was seeking a challenge with a deadline of 1 hour. Though the complete poster was not finished within an hour, major parts of the poster were complete (aside from effects refinement and typography).
I also would like to add that the project was complete within two sessions.
The images
Here are some of the images created for this project. All of them were AI generated and tailored for this poster, later polished and joined together with attention to details.
The logo
The logo of the futuristic movie poster, Neon Horizon, was made with “CGF Locust Resistance”, a typeface which is sans-serif with classic cyberpunk modifications – making it a perfect match to the atmosphere or the poster.
